Innovative solar technology: tradition meets sustainability

Solar roof: as convincing as roof shingles

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the world of construction - whether due to legal requirements or the rising expectations of building owners. It is particularly demanding when historic buildings or listed ensembles are to be renovated or modernised without compromising their aesthetic harmony. This results in the challenge of developing innovative concepts that are both ecologically and visually convincing.

In Switzerland, with its traditional grey shingle roofs, there is already an energy-generating solution for this roof covering: the MATCH slate creek granite solar roof. The inspiration for the design of these solar modules comes from the rustic natural stone roofs found in the Swiss Alps. It is a roof integrated photovoltaic roof made of frameless double glass modules. The solar modules are attached to the roof truss using discreetly designed hooks. They form a seamless transition to the roof shingle, creating a homogeneous roof appearance that is less reminiscent of the use of technical products and more reminiscent of classic tiled roofing. This product from Megasol Energy Ltd. was used, for example, for the new roof covering of the Herz Jesu Church in Saas-Fee.

Matt design emphasises natural impression

The satinised surface of MATCH slate Creek Granite is glare- and reflection-free. This also ensures the authentic appearance of a classic roof shingle. When laid on the roof, this look blends in harmoniously with the surrounding shingle roofs. The module also impresses as a facade with its natural look.

Standard allows flexibility

The MATCH Slate Creek Granite is installed in a similar way to a tile. The solar modules are fixed to the roof with discreet MATCH hooks and form a seamless transition to the roof edge without the need for on-site tinsmith work. Its three standard formats give the system a high degree of flexibility and enable full-surface integration for different roof shapes.

A good match: aesthetics and cost efficiency

MATCH slate Creek Granite combines aesthetics and cost efficiency. This solar roof not only offers conservation benefits, but also impresses with its long service life, high performance and simple installation. The roof is laid directly and impresses with its exceptional load-bearing capacity. This can be seen, for example, in the hail protection class 5 (hailstones with a diameter of 50 mm) or the extremely high snow load capacity of up to 13 kN/m2.

With a service life of up to 50 years, a Swiss product guarantee of ten years and a performance guarantee of 25 years, MATCH slate creek granite is an extremely reliable and economical choice for your construction project.

The material costs

The solar modules are integrated directly into the roof, replacing conventional materials such as tiles or shingles. This not only saves the cost of roofing materials that would still be required for rooftop solar systems, but also provides an aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective solution.
