Installation in sensitive locations
Glossy solar modules are technically efficient, but reflections on glass surfaces also have visual consequences – they can even be a safety issue near traffic routes or airports. This is exactly where the M450 comes in.
With the increasing expansion of photovoltaics, cases of annoying glare in residential areas are also on the rise. Depending on the position of the sun, a roof system can reflect an extremely large amount of light. As a result, complaints in neighbourhoods are becoming more frequent, SRF reported.
In order to increase acceptance in society and prevent complaints, it may be worthwhile to plan with glare-reduced modules. ‘As a precautionary measure, the radiation emissions of the system should be limited as far as technically and operationally possible and economically viable,’ recommends the industry association swissolar.
Tested surface technology
The newly developed ZRM+ surface technology combines microstructured glass with a special surface treatment. The result: a matt, homogeneous appearance that virtually eliminates annoying reflections.
By way of comparison: while an iPhone screen achieves a maximum brightness of 3,000 cd/m², the M450 also falls within this range at a sun angle of 0-30 degrees. The independent glare report by the Bern University of Applied Sciences confirms that the legally relevant limit values of 20,000 cd/m² are significantly undercut.
