Glare control in integrated photovoltaics: LEVEL Up now comes as standard with the low-glare ZRM+ finish.
Deitingen, 19 August 2026 – Megasol is once again setting new standards: the LEVEL Up system for roof-integrated photovoltaics now comes as standard with the ZRM+ module surface. This makes LEVEL Up the first fully integrated solar roof system with certified glare-free performance: at no extra cost and without compromise.

The market demands glare-free lighting – Megasol delivers
Since the launch of LEVEL Up in November 2025 – shortly after the launch of ZRM+ in the M450 rooftop module – Megasol has received an exceptionally high number of enquiries, all expressing a clear wish: in-roof modules should also be available as standard in a non-glare version. Glare-free surfaces are a crucial factor, particularly for projects in densely populated residential areas, near transport routes, or for installations requiring planning permission in sensitive zones.
Megasol took this call from the market seriously and acted decisively: rather than offering an optional variant, the ZRM+ technology was immediately made the new standard. With immediate effect, all LEVEL Up modules will be supplied exclusively with a ZRM+ surface.
How ZRM+ impresses without dazzling
ZRM+ stands for ‘Zero Reflect Matt+’ and is a microstructured glass surface developed by Megasol that virtually eliminates distracting glare. Whilst conventional solar glass produces intense reflections at unfavourable sun angles, the luminance of ZRM+ remains at a consistently low level of around 3,000–18,000 cd/m² even with steeply incident sunlight – comparable to clay tiles. Even at extreme angles of incidence of 70°, the modules remain well below the critical threshold of 50,000 cd/m², at approximately 29,000 cd/m².
Its effectiveness has been independently verified: the glare assessment report from Bern University of Applied Sciences confirms that the legally relevant limit values of 20,000 cd/m² are significantly undercut at every measured solar angle. The ZRM+ surface therefore remains outside the critical glare range at any position of the sun.
Until now, there has been no full-surface integrated solar roof system on the market that offers this glare-free performance as standard and as part of the system – i.e. including the mounting system, rails and accessories. LEVEL Up with ZRM+ is the first of its kind.
A perfect blend of aesthetics and function
The ZRM+ finish gives the LEVEL Up modules an elegant, deep-matt appearance that allows the technical structure of the solar cells to recede into the background. The glass has a velvety, uniform appearance – a clear advantage for architecturally sophisticated roof surfaces and façades.
LEVEL Up combines this visual quality with the system’s well-known technical strengths: frameless glass-on-glass modules, an efficiency of over 200 Wp/m², hail resistance class 5 and rain tightness in accordance with CEN/TR 15601. Full-surface installation creates a uniform roof surface that stylishly replaces traditional roofing materials such as tiles or slate.

- Building owners can actively prevent complaints from neighbours. With LEVEL Up ZRM+, glare-free performance is no longer an option, but the standard.
- Authorities and planning departments can, on request, receive the independent glare assessment report from Bern University of Applied Sciences – a clear argument in favour of a smooth approval process.
